No this goes all the way back to Standard Oil. Political retribution against JDR. JPM backed US Steel was far more monopolistic and never got any trouble.

My cynical view is that it's especially about successful companies that threaten the media's business model. Oracle is very very successful, and often cartoonishly evil in its use of lawsuits, but gets almost no media attention because they don't compete for ad dollars

Uhhhh im pretty sure facebook is bad for consumers. Of course its impossible to say either way definitively. But in this case, there’s some strong scandals pointing to anticompetitive behavior, no?
