idk, who's "us"? honestly, if you're of libertarian or anarchist sympathies, isn't it a good thing? fragmentation of meaning-making makes large group coordination impossible, forcing function toward smaller groups

I mean like, the transition will be very violent and probably protracted but I don't see how you forestall it except via luddism, but in the longer term I think this tends toward the patchwork

A frightening thing is that to the old generation, getting swept up in the Twitter mob is at worst foolish and silly. To the new generation, not getting swept up in the mob is simply unthinkable.

We need a better network for communicating across society in real time. A decentralized social network with incentives against confirmation bias and for unique/contrasting opinions? Everything idea-first instead of person-first. Unique ideas get a higher proportion of exposure
