growing up on the east coast, and living on the west, people say southerners aren’t nicer, they’re just fake. but i’ve been in nashville for a month now and i’ve got to say i love you but y’all are just assholes no offense.

This is the “how are you” scale for me. West coast asks it dramatically of everyone but doesn’t want the answer. East coast doesn’t ask, but will silently help you (carry luggage/children on subway stairs etc). In the south they ask and they want the answer and will probably help
