In the case of the south, and probably other regions which I haven't seen as much of, I find that it varies heavily from one town to the next how nice the people are.

Currently experiencing the Texas version of this, and yes. I love New York and it’ll always be my home town, but I’m medium spicy at most by that town’s standards and a cacophonous jackwagon by southern ones.
