It's not "debasing" the court, it's restoring balance by appointing several fair and reasonable justices.

Yes, and I'd frankly be disappointed if Trump had appointed two. But Merrick Garland was blocked by the senate in unprecedented fashion and the nature of the court has changed. Fortunately, the size of the court can be determined by legislation. Congress should rebalance it.
