Something that disturbed me when I first got to SF was the normalization of situations that would demand intervention in other cities, like when someone is unconscious or having a meltdown in public. It makes me scared to know when I need help no one will feel responsible.

i was just in denver. stumbled upon a homeless man collapsed from — presumably — heat exhaustion with a whole crowd around him making sure he was okay. ambulance showed up moments later. stark difference from sf.

From what I hear Denver is heading in our direction though, and for the same NIMBY reasons
