Honestly, who knows with this guy (Chesa) But it’s more likely imo to be signaling friendship toward SF locals of Chinese descent, a fairly large percentage of the truly local population

You’re wrong about Chesa. The ‘Pro-crime’ talking point/critique comes from folks who have a view of accountability limited to punishment alone. That view doesn’t make society safer. He’s pro-accountability and building additional tools to that end.
