did i ever tell you guys about the time i got pulled over in utah yesterday, frisked on the side of the road, and guarded by backup while og deputy dewey searched my car for drugs with his k9 unit bc i have an earring and california plates and am therefore probably a criminal ??
he asked if he could bring his dog out, and then again to search, and i said yes bc frankly i don’t understand the law as well as i should and was nervous about what might happen if i didn’t say yes

Istm if they're gonna search anyway, and you know you're not realistically going to hire an attorney to contest the legality of that search, then it's best to just grit your teeth and give them the okay. A bit less chance they plant something in your car &c 'cuz you seemed uppity

Same thing happened to me but I refused the search saying they had no probable cause. Magically the dog threw a signal and they strip searched the car anyway. 45 minutes later they released me because they found nothing.
