why is “everyone needs a degree these days” an argument for government funded college rather than a less intrusive government, which forces everyone from lawyers to teachers to go to college ???

I’ll weigh in. Mike is arguing for less stringent regulation on many professions, so those would no longer have the high educational barriers of entry that they have now. He said teachers, but could also apply to hair stylists, florist, other jobs that shouldn’t require a degree
