Life is precious. Both mine and yours. However, if someone is invading my home, I will kill them. I don’t want to. It doesn’t bring me joy. But nobody is taking away my sense of safety. Sorry. I’m not going to question how the system has failed them, they will just be super dead.

"my sense of safety" is the key phrase here. ethics aside, you're statistically more likely to shoot someone accidentally or have that gun used on you than to use it on an intruder. those are sucker's odds.

Can you cite statistics here? Out of every instance a firearm is pulled out for self protection how many people are self injured or injure others? It is incredibly low - like insignificant. This is anti-gun rhetoric.

I will only point my gun at something I intend to destroy. I will only put my finger on the trigger if I’m going to destroy something or someone and it doesn’t go off by itself.

yeah my q. is are you gonna get your gun out of the safe every time you hear a spooky noise downstairs? if yes, that's a lot of potential for accidents. if no, how are you going to have it when you need it?

this sounds like an argument for getting rid of the gun safe / lock laws at home (i agree fwiw)
