CA will put wealth tax onto the ballot CA voters like to tax the rich Newsom wants to run for president GN wants to veto the tax since it'll destroy tax base & CA/SF If Biden wins blowback to veto will be huge so GN wont do it => SF is only saved if Trump wins so GN can veto

i'm with you for most of this, just don't entirely buy the biden / trump piece. why is blowback different under biden than trump? in either case CA is held hostage by crazy people, and the state goes bankrupt. i think we may be fucked regardless?

Biden's finance team is entirely from Warren's team. She will destroy GN for vetoing the wealth tax since she wants a federal version If Trump wins, Newsom won't have the White House hounding him if he vetos, plus CA all political attention will be on "4 more years"

if Trump wins, we're last in line for vaccine distribution and our economy gets nuked anyway. And also no immigrants, so no immigrant founders.

we don't need trump to nuke our economy or make it impossible for immigrants to live here, our leadership has already done that

withholding a vaccine from non-loyal states for months or years would be a way to intentionally impoverish/depress an economy further.

he threatened to withhold fire aid because California wasn't "his base" to DHS staff. Not hard to see that his admin would at least consider the same w/ vaccines.https://www.sfchronicle.com/politics/article/Rageful-Trump-wanted-to-cut-off-California-15490529.php …

ah, so he never actually said it. thank god. well, the good news is every disaster california currently faces was caused by policy we voted for or people we voted in. should be much easier to fix at the ballot than the *entire* country.

glad we cleared up the whole entirely specious prompt of this thread that Newsom wouldn't veto a wealth tax if Biden (a lifelong moderate) were elected that there is absolutely no proof of

yes i think the difference is a wealth tax is actually *on the table,* and obviously politically viable. where's the "murder california" bill? haven't seen it.
