Everyone cool lives in Austin as far as I can tell. I've been to DFW a bunch of times and it has some really cute/nice suburbs (eg Denton) but absolutely requires driving to go pretty much anywhere/do anything. @alicemazzy otoh lives in Austin and bikes everywhere
this is good to here! when i was last in austin traffic was already a problem. any plans to mitigate? public transit etc.?

Anyone moving from SF can probably afford to live downtown in any other city, only reason not to is if you really want to have a ton of space. Even then you can get a relative wealth of space in most downtowns for cheap compared to SF.
