Nothing will make you disbelieve in alien visitations so much as doing the math on the time, technology, and cost it would take for humans realistically to do interstellar travel.

The traversable wormhole simulations that you hear about in the news are in the AdS/CFT duality, and there you can "cheat" by coupling the two sides of the hologram (which is dual to a negative energy shockwave you can ride through the wormhole). Sadly an unphysical operation
