i get it but you're assuming 1) there is no far more advanced form of energy efficiency possible (advanced to the point of inconceivability), and separately 2) there is no potential technology capable of concealing a megastructure thousands of light years away from us

as for (1) it doesn't matter how efficient you are with the energy if you just throw it away, but in any case what's the positive reason for why you would want to throw all, or the vast majority of, your resources away? For (2) we have reached the "zoo" hypothesis...

"zoo" is certainly possible - they could go to great lengths to conceal everything from us. BUT if you believe in "zoo" then actually seeing a *real* UFO shouldn't happen, because the whole point is that they're going to extreme lengths to conceal their existence!!!
