ftr i still don’t know exactly what’s happening in portland, and am learning with the rest of you. there is however no shortage of articles on the chinese government harvesting the organs of the ethnic minority they are holding in camps, which is what i’ve been consumed by.

It's really not clear to me what's going on in Portland. It appears uniformed feds are performing arrests and detaining people in unmarked vehicles. That's either a big deal or a total nothingburger depending on the treatment of those detained & whether the arrests are lawful.

i saw a video, admittedly incomplete, of a guy being “arrested” by unknown agents who didn’t read rights. shoved the guy in an unmarked car. if that’s legit, it’s a kidnapping.

There's reason for alarm here, it's just that nearly every time we see this stuff there's a delay of a few weeks before the full context emerges & the general rule is that the situation either looks completely resolved or much worse. I don't think anyone can pick 'em in advance

There are so many things to be irritated with in his behavior, but the recurring fucking theme of 2020 is a pendulum swinging between paralysis and rage-driven destruction, and my big pet peeve is all this energy directed into forcing people into one or the other
