NEW: Auditors sharply critique Facebook's history of decisions around decisions of speech on the platform, which they found were ‘Setbacks for Civil Rights' from a two-year study detailed in a 100-page report, a copy of which was obtained by the NYThttps://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/08/technology/facebook-civil-rights-audit.html …

the company plans to release the audit tomorrow (Weds). under the greatest scrutiny has been Mark Zuckerberg's recent decisions to allow politicians to break the company's rules and prioritize free expression above all else, even if that infringes upon the civil rights of users.

Journalists are pushing facebook to make rules because they know they can't pass laws. To the extent that facebook is ubiquitous, they have the same result. And the principles behind why a new law wouldn't work still apply.

I don’t think social media platforms should allow the president to broadcast that the corona virus is a hoax without context, it’s too dangerous to public health
