imo what we are really talking about is the overton window, which has shifted so dramatically as to exclude saying “cancel culture is real” and to include literal marxism. pandemic is important, but some people never waste a crisis. can’t just ignore culture.

Agreed. My specific disappointment is with public intellectuals who are in a position to criticize and shape institutions when they have failed so dramatically during this pandemic but instead have decided to spend the past few weeks debating cancel culture

A few weeks ago when this all first started I though the debate was thoughtful and productive, but now it has gone on too long to the point where I am questioning people’s priorities.
