The reality is that tech and the media that covers it is so much more niche than either community wants to believe that it doesn’t matter if everybody takes a breath or it’s absolutely surreal. It’s inside baseball that literally matters to hardly anybody.

If the tech community at large really thinks there is wildly corporate clickbait profiteering going on at the expense of prominent founders and VCs, I’m not really sure how to contextualize for them how little this stuff means to most people.

Dan and his team have one of my absolute favorite publications in tech. One of the few that I stan. He’s wrong here, though. 1) I think it’s hard to write every day and never be wrong. 2) Not having direct access, trusting people who claim to (but report in bad faith.)
