Aren't they kind of doing this to themselves by limiting the app to only a handful of very specific high status individuals? No one has an opportunity to experience it for themselves and the only conversations that leak out will be the most controversial.

I'm not even saying it's a bad strategy, it probably helped with fundraising. But it seems like the exclusive nature of their network will always result in a distorted view of what goes on inside the app.

The reality is that tech and the media that covers it is so much more niche than either community wants to believe that it doesn’t matter if everybody takes a breath or it’s absolutely surreal. It’s inside baseball that literally matters to hardly anybody.

If the tech community at large really thinks there is wildly corporate clickbait profiteering going on at the expense of prominent founders and VCs, I’m not really sure how to contextualize for them how little this stuff means to most people.
