I like that he said "if" instead of "given that".

Good interview question: “Where do you see yourself in 5 to the 143 years”

Are you sure? Life seems pretty good at increasing total entropy by decreasing it locally. (Also, the guy is a physics phd candidate and one of the world's greatest engineers. Not that it necessarily means anything. Just saying.)

not a big appeal to authority guy, but as long as we're on the subject... he's not a better physicist than richard muller, who totally disagrees. segment begins around 40 minutes.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/anatomy-of-next/id1123461944?i=1000430408809 …

you should listen to the whole thing. heat death is the direction (in contrast with crunch), but not an absolute. he then considers another theory, and concludes "no end, and no heat death, simply a heat evolution"

Living creatures increase the entropy of the universe. For example, humans break down food into smaller molecular components (with more potential configurations & higher entropy) + heat. We’re part of the process and certainly aren’t exempt from the 2nd law of thermo. :)

The fact that we can create sonatas and iPhones while increasing the disorder of the universe is counter-intuitive and miraculous
