did people have this kind of information when we cured polio? mainstreamed penicillin? what about when we eradicated malaria from the US with the use of modern-day bogeymen like deet? eradicating disease is a good thing imo.

So we should stick with 1955's regulatory environment in 2020? Deet is really your success story? I'm just asking has anyone studied the implications of this; sounds like the answer is no. Think we need higher standards for the release of bioengineered genetics.
