social media (as it exists today) and human nature are fundamentally incompatible on some levels
sort of the opposite imo, social media amplifies a natural human impulse that, at scale, is extremely dangerous

i think we agree. incompatible for creating a stable thoughtful society. but almost too compatible in the sense that social media exploits natural human weaknesses in an addictive way

It seems especially dangerous when that natural human impulse—amplified at scale via social media—can be manipulated in a climate of increased conspiracy theories and “fake news”. Deep fakes also won’t exactly help.
