there are thousands of tweets glorifying the riots, and doxing is effectively fine, now, if done to a cop’s family. adding this flag to trump’s tweet is an explicitly partisan act and everyone knows it. this will haunt tech for years.pic.twitter.com/MFq0CjfQth

Calling for people to be gunned down is different from destroying property.

imagine believing people don’t die in riots

If there are tweets calling for people to be killed in the riots, it would be consistent of Twitter to flag them.

absolutely absurd. people are killed in riots. the violence is the point. it’s why we don’t call them ‘protests’ or ‘gatherings’ and that you’re pretending not to know that is clearly driven by your political bias, which we all have, and is why we shouldn’t be regulating speech.

Twitter historically has been consistent on this point. Oblique or implied threats don't result in flagging, while direct threats do. The president saying he was going to order the national guard to start shooting people is a direct threat.

just a complete distortion of reality, and we’re going in circles here. you hate trump. the people who work at twitter hate trump. i dont like him either. I GET IT. but i absolutely don’t want people determining what people they don’t like are allowed to say.

Do you think Twitter should reverse their long-standing policies about direct threats of violence? In the past, they've exempted Trump's tweets that clearly qualified, such as threatening to nuke Iran.
