I have a suspicion that this is largely designed to double down on mask self-enforcement so when stuff opens up mask wearing doesn't also decline. Face shields with a hinge are probably the right call longer term though.

40 people have died in San Francisco from Covid out of 800k. This is ridiculous and everyone just needs to stop paying attention to the government. Crime is going up and people are being ruined financially. It's not justifiable.
