I strongly support efforts from @DeanPreston to open a safe camping site in the Haight. We need to open more safe camping spaces while working toward building more shelters and supportive housing. you understand you can just ask people to spread out, right? there’s a whole gulf between ‘folks are too close’ and ‘government camps.’ but what does this have to do with the TL? the haight location is for homeless in the haight, who, again, are not safer in closer proximity.

No one is forcing them into the camps. The status quo is spreading disease pretty rampantly, and folks are calling cops on them daily, risking infection for the police and the homeless. Like you’re just ignoring the actual camps in place right now, which are reducing spread
