I strongly support efforts from @DeanPreston to open a safe camping site in the Haight. We need to open more safe camping spaces while working toward building more shelters and supportive housing. Looking out my window in the TL shows a dozen tents packed together along the sidewalk, too close to be safe. This also means people walking by have to walk out into the street to maintain 6' distance. I say the parking lot is safer because the tents can be spaced out.
