I strongly support efforts from @DeanPreston to open a safe camping site in the Haight. We need to open more safe camping spaces while working toward building more shelters and supportive housing. i didn’t say the community liked it — this is an actual disaster — i said the community prefers it to a government camp. we give the city hundreds of millions of dollars a year for this single issue. build shelter.

Yes, build shelters. But in the meantime let's offer a better solution than sidewalk camping.
