its because of political correctness. no one wants to look like they are targetting Chinese immigrants when in reality all they have to do is cooperate with FBI investigators and do press releases. Wasn't Google's project Maven also botched internally by CCP people?
i forget which side of this we landed on — are we still pretending the tech industry doesn’t have a massive espionage problem on its hands? because that was dumb and self-defeating *before* we were teetering on a cold war with china. now it’s dangerous.
