If your employer permanently transitioned to 100% remote work tomorrow, would you move?

This has happened with me. Really love my job, and we have essentially become fully remote during this time. Because I don’t have to stay in SF, I’ve recently signed a lease in Austin and am moving in 2 weeks.

I’ve been in SF nearly 10 years, and have seen it change a lot (not always for the worse). I don’t mind paying rent here in SF. It’s worth it in many ways. It’s just that I don’t want to be paying rent my whole life, and that’s a real possibility here.

I think a lot of people feel this way, and the worst part is once people don't see a future for themselves in a city they don't engage politically. it's like, why bother? but of course political change is the only way we'll ever lower the cost of living. it's all just so sad.
