My daughter and her BFF started a podcast called Quaranteens and I was surprised at the sound quality. One is using an iPhone and the other her laptop. They've figured everything out on their own because all the tools are available.
i'm producing two podcasts on a laptop with a hundred dollar mic, descript, adobe audition, and soundcloud — no studio, no real budget, no help. but my interview quality sounds close to par with what i'm hearing out of "pro" shops with $$$. our tools have gotten REALLY GOOD.

Once you bring in Audition, it’s pretty much game over. So much can be done in post now and the input signal will be “good enough” to withstand the quality loss.

+1 for good sound quality. Love the ATR2100. Rode NTG2 is a nice upgrade w/ Zoom H5. But only if you’re in the field, and who knows if you’ll ever need it.
