a lot of people have been shouting from my mentions that the problem with our government is a philosophy of keeping it small, which... of course ignores completely the disaster state of california. the problem with our government is people like this are in charge.

When you say "philosophy of keeping it small" -- is our non-defense spending small compared to other countries? Especially when you factor in state & local government?
belief that a "philosophy of keeping it small dominates our political culture" is a characterization of very far left people on twitter. america obviously subscribes to no such philosophy.
