Our government is bad because it’s the only entity large enough to tackle a crisis like this but intentionally hobbled by people who hate government

It's partially true. The people who should be trying to hold it to a higher standard of accountability instead have given up on the possibility of competent government and try to hamstring it at every opportunity.

I mean it’s not the only answer, but it is for a lot of things. South Korea, Taiwan, etc have highly funded and competent governments that tackled the virus well. GOP governors have intentionally sabotaged things like unemployment insurance:pic.twitter.com/WDcWrdREZz
