we’ve reached the chapter of this apocalypse at which point it’s worth noting there are people who, for purposes political, personal, or mental, actually do not want it to end. but it needs to end. we need a plan — now — for it to end.

I mean we can figure out a plan to allow the lifting of some of the restrictions, not up to us when the crisis ends though... we can’t force a cure or vaccine to appear and we can’t insist to the virus that enough is enough

quarantine was an emergency measure to buy us some time while we got our hospitals, PPE, and tests in order. but it’s like holding your breath. literally impossible to maintain without spiraling into global depression.

So you were merely referring to the quarantine as the apocalypse? A little hyperbolic perhaps, as without it we may well of had one. There is no safe switch though to just say ok resume normality. We do need to be careful whilst trying to regain what we can of our lives.

yes, a *government-enforced* "self-isolation" that quite apparently violates the constitution, with no transparency into the decision making process, no public plan to manage the crisis, and no end in sight

The freedom argument seems silly. We gave those up for patriot act. However I feel the reopening is a emotional decision not a _reason_ to reopen. I want fast testing like a hand held devise you blow into

i keep hearing arguments in favor of impeding liberty on grounds that this is "just like the patriot act" from people who absolutely hate the patriot act
