i don’t think there’s a question it’s unsustainable. there’s only the question of what we do once all these people start retiring and the state can’t keep the dishonest promise that it made to them. tax apocalypse, i guess, and then watch how fast industry exits.

Even if that’s true I just don’t see why dealing with it while state revenue is getting hit by a once in a lifetime event is optimal

i don’t think anyone wants to deal with it at all, ever, which is why we have a crisis. but we’re deluding ourselves if we think it’s because of the pandemic — which btw every other state in the union is also experiencing.
