Because it's implausible that aliens would behave as observed (like the problem of evil, but for aliens) Also if aliens existed they'd be hella old, s.t. we'd see more evidence of them rearranging the universe If you have P(aliens) > 5%, curious your reason w.r.t above?
you should listen to the episode. no one here speculating they’re from another world. more complicated.

listened, def more reasonable but imo still hard to reconcile with observations, incl. lack of dramatic change also mundane explanation: media selection pressure in favor of UFO stories, including by former military (out of many pilots), tho I dont know details re:explanations

expired simulation is interesting, but mostly for same reasons as OG simulation thought experiment re: expired, still have problem of wasting lots of resources, which are useful for other things (in vein of "we'd already see massive use of universe"). w/ infinite resources maybe
