the liberalization of the FDA has been a rare bright spot of leadership throughout this crisis. if someone in critical condition wants access to experimental drugs, they should be allowed. their body, their prerogative.

Too little, too late. The head of the labs association asked for what they were just granted yesterday, a month ago, and they were denied.

FDA still saying they haven’t approved these drugs outside of their trial. Trump was just wrong.

the FDA is not saying that. and i'm referring here to comments the FDA commissioner *just* made at a presser while standing next to the president. more info on 'compassionate care' -https://news.bloomberglaw.com/pharma-and-life-sciences/hundreds-of-corona-patients-allowed-to-try-gileads-ebola-drug …

Now legalize weed federally and allow restaurants and grocery stores to deliver it.

Tbh this is standard FDA practice, not ‘liberalization’; compassionate use has been around since the 1960s, and remdesivir is a Ph3, so it has already passed safety and is now being evaluated for efficacy. It’s also orphan designated, so incentives are aligned to accelerate use.

but we also have ‘right to try,’ now. it will be interesting to see how that factors in.
