one thing i hoped is we would at least all be shocked by the global health crisis into working together, setting aside tribalism for the moment, and not, for example, celebrating the potentially lethal infection of people with whom we disagree politically. alas.

Instead we’re doubling down on tribalism. We’d rather root for the blue team or red team than work together to Manhattan project the defeat of this virus.
i’ve noticed a few in media, tech etc. put the bullshit away these past few days and that has given me a little hope
