Maybe it’s not truly a global crisis until the tribalism and identity politics disappear. Once that goes, you know it’s serious.
one thing i hoped is we would at least all be shocked by the global health crisis into working together, setting aside tribalism for the moment, and not, for example, celebrating the potentially lethal infection of people with whom we disagree politically. alas.
