Maybe a more fair and civilized way of dealing with this is to allow student debt to be discharged like any other debt in bankruptcy instead of making kids carry the burden of misfortune or mistakes for the rest of their life.

I have zero issue contributing to no one else having to pay off loans like I once did. Just like i have zero issue contributing to schools i don't use, or medical benefits others use that i don't need.

It’s all unfair. Paying for wars that protect oil companies is unfair. Paying for southern states that can’t attract high-skills jobs is unfair. Using “fairness” is awfully subjective. I prefer to look at net-efficiencies. I would like more people to be educated.

The inescapable problem w/ libertarianism is that it assumes markets are self-perpetual. Markets are machines, made by people and require maintenance and a purpose. Failing to take responsibility for markets, unwilling to decide purpose, makes ppl slave to a pointless machine.
