deeply saddened to discover the government of san francisco — after decades of corruption and ineptitude — would have built functioning public transit had google not started bussing employees to work a few years ago

Yeah. All the ~city services (shuttles, etc) that big tech offer isn’t cause they want to. There’s no google shuttles in Manhattan. But there’s a big google office. Same in London. one of these things is not like the other...

I mean considering the city’s public transit service is so amazing within the city I’m sure Google/fb is the reason we don’t have a robust cross Bay Area bus system....They saw a problem and acted quickly as a private org. City should have responded quickly with service not regs
