Touché regarding the vodka episode. Other than that, Castro did democratize access to education, any objective analyst outside of the US would recognize that. And Chavez was the democratically-elected leader of Venezuela. Sarkozy and Merkel also supported him. Are they socialist?
castro: an actual mass murderer. put gay men in concentration camps. banned the internet. imprisoned his entire nation for decades. but then again he also provided equal access to really shitty public education. a wash, i guess.
