why don’t we ever ask this question of senators, many of whom have never governed a day in their life?https://twitter.com/kittypurrzog/status/1219416320069890050 …

I genuinely like Andrew Yang but I’m with the NYT: why isn’t he running for city council? President isn’t an entry-level job. (Or shouldn’t be.)

The idea politicians become more qualified the longer they are in office is silly. Being a DC outsider is a strength, not a weakness. Of course, the establishment doesn't want to admit that.

I’d be really interested in seeing a study on the experience all prior presidents have brought with them to office measured against their effectiveness I wonder if it’s governing experience, military experience, political experience, or something else entirely that matters

Pretty sure it was asked of Trump. And "the best people" is the answer that we were expecting. But you are right. Governing is a whole different kind of leadership

why I lean Bloomberg - the man has actually done large scale civic governance. I served 2 years on my local CB and fuck if it wasn’t a lot harder than I thought it would be

Obama didn't have job experience of governance but they were head over heels in love with him as he didn't even do his job as a senator and merely voted "present" for years. There's a long list of presidents who didn't have governing experience.

Yang has plenty of real leadership qualifications: Corporate Attorney who helped his clients start and mange lots of real world businesses, venture capital, and started and sold his very own business (entrepreneur). Instead some socialist politician w/ no real world experience?
