It’s merely an accelerated cycle, I think, of what is hawking everywhere else. It was fine for wealth leaning left to deflect using lefty politics that were always contradictory, but now the contradictions are heightened.

The left leaning machines used to run our major cities and they kept lefty ideology in line—at the end of the day after wheels were grease there was a city to run. But now that rhetoric and ideology at its most extreme is taking over the machines themselves.
