Out of state/private med/dental school tuition can approach 60k/year (was ~40k when I graduated a decade ago), so it's not THAT unusual nowadays, sadly.

Yeah I have heard this about dentists plus there can be a large debt load on starting a dental business

Do you consider it fine that in order to be a medical practioner you have to go into more debt than most people's net worth will ever be?

It is true. I know a bit more about med school; it’s gotten so expensive and competitive, an increasing number of students come from wealthy families (which cannot be good for medicine). This is definitely a problem, but attacking EW won’t fix it.

Then it makes another argument: about cutting the cost of medical education to cut medical costs. If you require doctors and dentists to amass half a million of debt then you can't control medical costs.
