I thought tech had basically white supremed the poor POC out of the city. That’s supremacy brought by big tech, bolstered by local govt, beloved by the new gentry.
tech isn’t sf “gentry.” we for the most part don’t own property here, and none of our local legislators (ruling class) are from the industry. you can’t blame the housing shortage on immigrants. the government needs to legalize building.
The narrative violation is that most tech workers aren't actually doing that well in SF. Yet they're "techies" so they're obv the problem

Here’s the thing: if they are in San Francisco they are doing well (compared to everyone else).
Tech *brought any white supremacy there is in SF. I lived there: It had a robust Black community at one time and had people from all over the world, but it wasn’t exclusive. Those unable to afford SF aren’t going to do much better in San Mateo etc.
