Should we focus on incentives for finishing? We have many Kindle books, Netflix movies, MOOC courses. But people tend to start and then abandon them midway. Perhaps this is rational. Perhaps it encourages brevity. Perhaps grazing is fine. Or should we incentivize finishing?

I have two children and I give away all their books as they age out of them. It’s amazing for kids to have their own little reading library. It reminds them that reading is an option and provides potentially interesting books ready at-hand. Gifting books helps this.
