Republican voters are constantly pushing for more autonomy to be shifted to the local level. Whether they’re doing a good job with it or not is another question.

I think anti-federalists, conservatives, and Republicans are often not the same people... Seems like Mike's viewpoint is anti-federalist, locally liberal, and federally conservative.
