This would be so much more effective as an economic force if the populace had an easier time of moving and self-selecting into those localities. Otherwise those municipalities exercise in reflection, Not leadership

Give more power to counties/townships and less power to big cities that use all that for environmental doomsday legislation and welfare. See 2nd amendment sanctuary movement in Virginia, it could work for other issues.

Completely agree. Faceless bureaucrats are extremely dangerous if they are not kept locally accountable. No Child Left Behind is the poster child of this.
