It's not laws against free expression, it's laws against hatred. Massive difference, just as massive as the ignorance it takes to always cry "fascism" when one sees a German talking about something one disagrees with.
oh, all expression is free except “hatred,” a ‘bad speech’ ambiguously defined by politicians chiefly concerned with maintaining power. you’re right, this is probably fine.

Would be awesome to see an example where "free speech" (according to the US definition, which apparently has to allow for hatred and abuse) has resulted in an efficient political system. I guess you don't have such at hand at this time tho, do you?

Last time I checked freedom of speech resulted in the pretty efficient political system called United states that resulted in Europe being liberated by nazifascism who were not so in favor of freedom of speech. Buy hey, what do I know? I'm just an Italian living in Germany.
