Just talking about the accuracy of the main quote: “We must regulate our words and our thoughts—or else our society won’t be as free as it was!” She never said those words. The screwed quote sounds *much more* severe. And yes what they want to do is still problematic.
got it, my sense of the quote i originally shared is it was meant to be a paraphrase juxtaposed with the popular opinion in germany

Popular opinion: you’re unfortunately totally correct as far as the center/left politics is concerned. Love the fact that some content of the same politicians was taken down under that same law - their reaction: “how dare those platforms to deem *my* content hate speech”
