first, you're not challenging the notion of god rn, you're challenging the notion of a very specific god you yourself once believed in. second, that we are only "recently-evolved self-reflective apes" is a strange case for trusting our ability to fully comprehend reality.

Ah, would have generalized but saw in another reply that you were positing something close to the abrahamic god, so thought I could cut through to that. Additionally, I'm not claiming full knowledge of reality, but I'd say no god is a better bet than ones that we've thought up.
